CAIRO - Good grief.

What? No one'e ever heard of eloping?

What? No one'e ever heard of eloping?

People have a right to protest.

But there’s always someone who takes things too far.

Mutilating yourself because your family is being snobby about your girlfriend is no way to go about the ticklish business of marriage.

Why not elope?

Blame it on Ronald Reagan

NEW YORK - Well, we always suspected it, but it’s nice to have someone people actually read confirm it.

Guilty!

Guilty!

The Gipper was not your friend, devoted Reagan cult members.

In fact, he was an enemy of the people. Well, at least working- and middle-class people.

Have a look at Paul Krugman’s fine op-ed piece at the New York Times.

They’re only UFOs until someone identifies them

PHOENIX - Yesterday’s UFO sighting throughout Arizona turned out to be nothing more than a giant NASA research balloon used to measure gamma ray emissions in high altitudes. according to Bill Stepp of the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility located in Palestine, Texas.

"Look! Up in the sky! It's a ... balloon."

"Look! Up in the sky! It's a ... balloon."

Scottsdale office worker Marshall Valentine described the balloon as, well, what you’d expect a balloon to look like. “It looks like someone blew a bubble in the sky and it stayed there.”

Everybody can now back to what they were doing before they saw the balloon.

Cell picture leads to a jail cell

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

SEATTLE - A man visiting a Seattle REI store snapped a picture with his cell phone camera of Loomis & Fargo guards servicing an in-store ATM. And that’s when the trouble started.

Rent-a-cops don't like having their pictures taken.

Rent-a-cops don't like having their pictures taken.

The rent-a-cops didn’t like that and threatened shutterbug Shane Becker with a tackling if he tried to leave the store.

Real police offiers then arrived and took Becker into custody. After 30 minutes spent handcuffed in a cell, Becker was released … but not without a stern warning that referenced 9/11.

Becker also had to sign an official REI document that bans him from entering the store for one year.

Oddly, the arresting officers never asked to see the offending photo and Becker was not asked to delete it from his phone.
