Cell picture leads to a jail cell
SEATTLE - A man visiting a Seattle REI store snapped a picture with his cell phone camera of Loomis & Fargo guards servicing an in-store ATM. And that’s when the trouble started.
The rent-a-cops didn’t like that and threatened shutterbug Shane Becker with a tackling if he tried to leave the store.
Real police offiers then arrived and took Becker into custody. After 30 minutes spent handcuffed in a cell, Becker was released … but not without a stern warning that referenced 9/11.
Becker also had to sign an official REI document that bans him from entering the store for one year.
Oddly, the arresting officers never asked to see the offending photo and Becker was not asked to delete it from his phone.
